CDC releases overdose data for 2020, nearly 30% increase in deaths


DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF)- U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) issued a statement after the Center for Disease Control (CDC) released overdose data for 2020. The preliminary statistics showed over 93,000 Americans died of drug overdoses during the year. Nationwide the CDC tracked a nearly 30% increase in overdose deaths compared to 2019.
