Feds announce $20-million grant to help fight opioid addiction in southern Ohio, three other states


PIKETON — U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia announced a $20 million grant to help fight the opioid epidemic in southern Ohio and three other states during a visit Wednesday morning to Piketon.

The pilot program aims to address the health and economic impacts of widespread opioid and substance misuse, addiction and overdoses by providing retraining and other services to workers in communities significantly impacted by the opioid crisis.
