Opioid task force eyes strategic plan

An opioid task force formed by the Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition is eying a strategic plan for tackling the county’s opioid abuse problem.

The task force, which meets monthly and consists of 25-30 members representing various agencies, will hold its first strategic planning meeting from 10 a.m. to noon May 27 to write the plan. The session will be held through virtual teleconferencing. Kim Comerzan, director of the Monroe County Health Department, is chairperson of the task force, which has contracted with the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio to create the plan.
