Overdose reversal drug dispensing soared after Ohio law change

A new study by pharmacy researchers at the University of Cincinnati found a dramatic increase in the number of naloxone prescriptions dispensed in Ohio since a 2015 law change. 

 

In July 2015, the Ohio General Assembly approved a law allowing pharmacists to dispense naloxone without a prescription in accordance with a physician-approved protocol.
