Study by Ohio AG's office finds stimulus checks led to record increase in opioid deaths

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- A new study by the Ohio Attorney General’s Center for the Future of Forensic Science found COVID-19 stimulus checks led to a record increase in opioid deaths.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost says to his knowledge, this is the first study of its kind to find the correlation.

Yost explained the director for the Future of Forensic Science noticed the trend, so they dug into it. It took researchers 10 months to complete the study.
