Summit County opioid settlement money to fund programs at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Summa Health to support pregnant women impacted by substance abuse

AKRON, Ohio – A task force that makes recommendations on how Summit County should spend money won in settlements with opioid manufacturers has awarded grants to Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Summa Health for programs to support expecting mothers, especially those with substance use disorders.
The Summit County Opioid Abatement Advisory Council announced Tuesday in a news release a $1.5 million grant for Summa Health and $1 million for Cleveland Clinic Akron General to expand the organizations’ “CenteringPregnancy” programs.
