Toledo police officers treated for possible opioid exposure after drug trafficking arrest

TOLEDO, Ohio — Four different Toledo police officers have needed treatment for suspected opioid exposure within one week.

Court records say 25-year-old Ivan Thomas ripped open a bag of fentanyl and threw it into the back seat of the police vehicle around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday before being taken into Lucas County Corrections Center.
